Because of the low number of currently available toxicity tests for marine environment, the authors describe an experimental procedure using a marine copepod : Tigriopus brevicornis. This method can be used to quantify the 50 % inhibition of larval production or growth. The variability in controls larval production reaches about 9 %. The toxicity of two contaminants : tributyltin (TBTF) and cadmium chloride (CdCl2) was determined with this method and the 50 % decreases in larval production are respectively 1,4 µg/l (TBTF) and 61 µg/l (Cd++).
Les auteurs proposent une méthodologie pour un test de toxicité sur un microcrustacé marin Tigriopus brevicornis. Elle permet en 10 jours de déterminer une inhibition ds 50 % de la production larvaire et/ou du développement. La variabilité de la production larvaire chez les témoins a été évaluée: elle est d'environ 9 %. La toxicité de deux sels métalliques : le tributylétain (TBTF) et le chlorure de cadmium, a été déterminée à l'aide de ce test. Les concentrations inhibitrices de 50 % de la production larvaire sont respectivement 1,4 µg/l (TBTF) et 61 µg/l (Cd++).
